Meet Atari’s New Console, the Ataribox! (Video)

Hello, Ataribox.

Atari teased its Ataribox at E3 and it will be a “brand new Atari product.” and here is a brief video of the Ataribox that posted on YouTube.

“After decades of absence, Atari has announced its plans to get back into the console business. Once a dominant force in the gaming industry, Atari left the limelight following the infamous video game crash of 1983. It’s been nearly 20 years since the release of Atari Jaguar, and the iconic giant is ready to make a comeback with a brand new machine.”

There are details from CEO Fred Chesnais in an interview with GamesBeat at E3 2017 saying that the Ataribox will be based on PC technology.

There is no information of the PC technology, no release date, and pricing yet but Atari spoke about the future video game library in a recent newsletter by saying, “we will be delivering classic gaming content, we will also be delivering current gaming content.”

Here are some more photos of the Ataribox and there seems to a Black/Red version and a more Classic Wood finish version. The console features a SD card slot, four USB ports, a HDMI output, and an Ethernet cable port.
