Video Games Old but Gold #11: Silent Hill

I don’t know about you, but this game defined horror back in the day.

Silent Hill is a survival horror game that released for the PlayStation in 1999. You play as Harry Mason looking for his lost daughter, Cheryl in Silent Hill after a car crash. This was the scariest games I’ve played since I was little and I was so scared that I had to let my dad play it for me.

This was the scariest game I’ve played when I was little and I was so scared that I had to let my dad play it for me. Plus it also gave me nightmares.

It still looks scary to me, even Harry Mason looks scared.

I remember the camera angles being a huge problem for me because I would run down an alleyway and a turn would come up for the camera angle to quickly change and I just slam into a wall. Also, the game was so dark in some locations, especially in the hospital or the school and I couldn’t see a thing so the flashlight was a lifesaver for me.

Silent Hill honestly defined the horror genre for video games at the time and I love Silent Hill so much. I’ve literally played all of the Silent Hill games that came out afterward, even if I’m still a pansy.

Do you guys remember playing Silent Hill?
